"To assist her recovery from surgery and a subsequent stroke, David invented a motor-assisted reciprocating arms / legs action therapy cycle."
In 2000, David Sellers, the founder of Assistive Therapy Solutions, Inc. (ATSi), received the inspiration for this therapy cycle technology when a loved one suffered debilitating health issues. To assist her recovery from surgery and a subsequent stroke, David invented a motor-assisted reciprocating arms/legs action therapy cycle. The cycle was later themed the eVO, meaning “evolution”, defined as “an unfolding; process of development or change”. He saw the benefit it provided and decided to help others with his invention.
Traditional physical therapy and replicated key concepts were taken into consideration in eVO's design
In designing the eVO, the practices of traditional physical therapy and replicated key concepts were taken into consideration; repetitive range of motion, cardiovascular conditioning, and strength training exercises were frequently used techniques. It seemed obvious that mechanical means could assist the necessary motions to improve functional mobility. During the past several years eVO units have been used world-wide fulfilling physical rehabilitation fitness needs of children, adults, and rehabilitation professionals.
In 2009, Therapy Motions, LLC assumed the rights of the eVO System from ATSi with the mission of providing advanced technology to those who need physical rehabilitation. Therapy Motions has assembled a strong leadership team providing business, engineering, and healthcare industry experience while incorporating the legacy knowledge and proven talent of ATSi’s personnel who remain involved in this new venture. We look forward to releasing the potential in more people’s lives! |
